An exciting opportunity to take part in a 10-week filming project for BBC Cymru Wales is being offered to one lucky street in Wales.
The team behind consumer and lifestyle programme X-Ray, fronted by husband and wife Rhodri and Lucy Owen, is hunting for a group of neighbours to star in the forthcoming series.
From May until July, the residents of the chosen street will be on our screens as they improve their finances, learn new ways to save money and become more savvy shoppers.
Rhodri Owen said: “This challenge is a great opportunity to look at a subject which affects us all – money! We’ll be looking at the best ways to reduce your household bills, how to make your cash go further, entertain the kids without breaking the bank and tips on how to save for special occasions.”
And commitment from the residents will be crucial to the success of the challenge! “We’ll be on hand to advise”, said Rhodri, “but the ideas have to come from the residents themselves.”
Last series, the X-Ray team helped the residents of Portland Street, Abertillery, to improve their health and general wellbeing. They wanted to ditch the takeaways, learn to cook from scratch, stop smoking, lose weight, improve their sleep and generally feel better.
It was a tall order and many families didn’t know where to start. But with X-Ray’s help, the families were introduced to a range of experts, including an ex-military fitness trainer, a top chef and a sleep advisor. By the end of the series, households on the street were healthier, happier and everyone had got to know their neighbours a lot better.
So if you and the people on your street are looking for a fun challenge which could benefit your finances, X-Ray wants to hear from you! E-mail [email protected] or call the team on 03703 334 334.
