Spot it! Snap it! Send it!

Have you seen the eye-catching banners called ‘Age is just a number!’. on the side of buses driving around the Caerphilly county borough?

The adverts feature pictures of local people from different generations and are part of a campaign aimed at challenging perceptions about age.

We want to know how many local people have had a chance to see them and what they think of them. So keep your eyes peeled and if you can (safely!), take a snap of the bus adverts on your mobile phone or camera then send them by email to [email protected]. One picture/ email will be chosen at random at the end of November and the sender will receive a prize – so get spotting!

We will also post the images on the ‘Age is just a number!’ Flickr account and use them to illustrate our feedback reports for the ‘Age is Just a Number!’ Campaign.

“We hope in time these really positive images will begin to break down some of the negative stereotypes people have of older and younger people” said Cllr Colin Hobbs, CCBC cabinet member and older people’s champion.

The Campaign is a joint project between the 50+ Positive Action and the Safer Caerphilly Community Safety Partnerships and has been funded by the Welsh Assembly Government’s Older People’s Reassurance scheme.
